Badge kit

Put your seal where players already look. This page says where each file goes, and where it must not.

You need a certificate number. Not certified yet? Get your game checked.

Where it goes

Each platform has its own rules. Steam's are the strictest, so it gets its own file.

A Steam store page. The seal sits in the description and in the awards box. The capsule art and the screenshots are marked as places it must not go.
Violet outlines are good places. Red marks are not.

Steam

Use the Steam seal. It shows the stamp, your scope and your certificate number, and no web address. Steam doesn't allow links on your store page, or text that looks like one.

Where it goes

  • In the Special Awards section, or near the top of About This Game.
  • Upload the PNG in Steamworks, so Steam hosts the file. Use the 616 px file. The 1232 px file is the same image for sharp screens.
  • Add one plain line beside it, like Certified Not Slop: NS-0042, demo, October 2026. The generator below writes it for you.

Where it must not go

  • On capsules, the header image or screenshots. Steam bans award logos there.
  • Anywhere with a link, a web address or a QR code, in the image or in the text around it.

Players check a Steam seal by searching your number on the Verify page.

An itch.io game page. The web badge sits at the top of the description, and the square stamp sits in the sidebar.
The web badge goes first. The stamp is optional.

itch.io

Use the web badge. It shows the address of your verification page, and itch.io allows links.

Where it goes

  • At the top of your description, linked to your verification page.
  • Optional: the square stamp in the sidebar, or at the end of your description.
  • In a devlog post that says you're certified, with the link.

Where it must not go

  • Inside your cover image or banner. Keep it a separate image, so people can click it.
  • On a page for a different game, or before you are certified.
A game's own website. The badge sits in the footer and near the store links. A line of code stands for the embed snippet.
The live badge goes in a footer or near your store links.

Your website and press kit

Use the live badge. Your page loads an image from notslop.games, drawn from your certificate's current status. If the certificate is revoked or replaced, the image turns grey by itself.

Where it goes

  • In the footer, near your store links, or on your press kit page.
  • Linked to your verification page. The generator below writes the HTML and the Markdown.

Where it must not go

  • Saved as a copy on your own server. A copy can't turn grey.
  • Linked anywhere except your certificate's verification page.
A video player. A timeline under the picture shows the first 10 seconds crossed out and the last 3 seconds highlighted. The last frame shows the end card.
Hold the end card for the last 2 to 3 seconds.

Trailers

Use the end card. It is a 1920 by 1080 PNG with a transparent background, so you can lay it over your last shot. There is a plain version and one with a laurel.

Where it goes

  • In the last 2 to 3 seconds of the trailer, held still.
  • Over your final shot, or on its own frame. The light and dark files fill the whole frame.

Where it must not go

  • In the first 10 seconds. Keep the opening for the game.
  • Stretched. If your video isn't 16:9, scale the card to fit and keep its proportions.
Two social posts. Each carries a card with the game's title and the stamp. The link to the verification page is in the post text, not in the card.
The link goes in the post. The card stays clean.

Social posts

Use the social cards. They carry your game's title, the stamp, and the line Checked by a person. AI use disclosed.

Where it goes

  • In a post that links to your verification page. The link goes in the post text.
  • 1200 by 675 for X and link previews. 1080 by 1080 for square feeds.
  • The generator below writes a post you can edit.

Where it must not go

  • Cropped, or with your own text laid over the stamp.
  • In a post before you are certified.

The rules for every badge

  1. Don't redraw, recolor or crop it. Pick the light, dark or transparent file that suits the place.
  2. A demo seal says DEMO. Keep that word visible. When the full game ships, ask for a re-check.
  3. Not before, not after. Don't show a seal before you're certified, or after the certificate is revoked.
  4. Use your own number. Each certificate belongs to one game.
  5. The seal says how the game was made, not that it's good. It never says a game is fun, and it never says a game has no AI. Don't describe it that way.
  6. Misuse can lead to revocation. The standard explains how revocation works. Questions: hello@notslop.games.

Make your badges

Enter your certificate number. You get every file, at the sizes each place needs.

You'll find it on your status page. The files are built in your browser.
