AI isn't the problem. Slop is.
A seal for games made with real effort, AI-assisted or not. A person checks each one in days. Free for the first 100 games.
More than 7,000 demos. Which ones are real?
October's Steam Next Fest put more than 7,000 demos in front of players. Players are asking how to tell the ones made with care from the rest.
A notslop seal is a person's answer. Someone played the game, compared it with its store page, and the developer said exactly what AI did.

How a game gets the seal
Paste your link
Steam, itch.io or your own site. We read your public page and history, then show you what we found.
About 1 minuteProve it's yours
One step, no account with us. Send a review copy, sign in with itch.io, or add a short code to your page for a day. Your own site uses a small file or a meta tag.
About 1 minuteConfirm how AI was used
Eight areas, from visuals to code. We fill in what your store page already says. Using AI is fine; the label says what it did.
About 2 minutes
That is about 5 minutes for most developers. If we can't find much public history for your game, we also ask for one proof of making, such as a link to your repository. Then a person plays your game and signs the decision. During the founding period we aim to decide within 5 business days.
What the seal means
For one version of one game, a person has checked four things.
Made by people
Real, human-directed development with visible iteration. Not generated in one go, not a reskin, not part of a mass-produced catalog.
It works
A person played it. No crashes, dead menus, or placeholder and debug leftovers in what we played.
The page is honest
Screenshots, trailer and description show the game as it plays.
AI use is disclosed
What AI did, area by area, matching your Steam or itch.io disclosure. Using AI is fine.
The seal never says a game is fun, good, or AI-free.
Every seal links to a label like this
It lists what was checked and what AI was used for. It never says whether a game is fun. That part is up to you.

A linked seal at the top of your game's description.
Your website
A live badge that greys out by itself if a certificate is ever revoked.

What we promise
- We check effort, not whether you used AI.
- Every certified game says what AI did, area by area.
- The label lists facts. It never says a game is fun.
- Games that don't pass are never named.
- Nobody can buy a seal, a faster review or a place in our picks.
- A person plays every game and signs every decision.
- Every seal can be checked, and revoked in public if it was earned dishonestly.
- Games from Quorum, the studio behind notslop, hold no certificate and are never listed or picked.
Looking for games that aren't slop?
The catalog lists only certified games, with what AI did in each one. Filter by platform, size and AI use.
Questions
Do you detect AI?
No. AI detection is unreliable, and most games will use some AI. We look for real, sustained work instead: your public history, your store page, and a person playing the game. You tell us what AI did, and we check it against your page and the game.
Can my game use AI and still pass?
Yes. Say what AI was used for, area by area, and make sure it matches your Steam or itch.io disclosure. The label shows it to players.
What does it cost?
The first 100 certified games are free. Any future fee will be announced at least 30 days ahead and never charged to a game that is already certified. Nobody can buy a seal, a faster review or a place in our picks.
How long does it take?
Most developers finish the form in about 5 minutes. A person then plays your game, and during the founding period we aim to decide within 5 business days. Your private status page always shows where you are.
Do browser games count?
Yes. Browser games go through the same check. You prove ownership with a small file or a meta tag on your site instead of a store page.
What if my game doesn't pass?
You hear privately, and nothing is published. “Not yet” comes with the exact fixes, and you can resubmit free within 90 days. “Declined” comes with a reason category, and you can submit a new version after 3 months.
Why is it free?
A seal only helps if enough good games carry it, so the first 100 certified games pay nothing. We would rather the early seals went to the best work than to whoever could pay. If we ever charge, we will say so at least 30 days ahead.
Who runs notslop?
notslop is run by the founder of Quorum, a small game studio. Quorum's games hold no certificate, because a seal can't vouch for its owner's own games, and they are never listed in the catalog or picked. Reviewers never review a friend's or their own game.
